Capcom at Summer Game Fest Recap

Jun 12, 2025 // Capcom Official

Onimusha, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, and PRAGMATA take the spotlight at Capcom’s Summer Game Fest!

During the Summer Game Fest 2025 Showcase, we were excited to make a multitude of announcements during the event. We revealed the latest action-packed trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, introduced the new Year 3 line-up of Street Fighter 6 characters, and last but certainly not least, we pulled back the curtain on a new era of survival horror with Resident Evil Requiem. Check out the trailers below!

This isn’t Hell, or Musashi’s world. The latest trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword showcases Musashi’s ability to fight Genma of all shapes and sizes with parries, defensive maneuvers, and even special attacks. It also introduces rival swordsman, Sasaki Ganryu, another wielder of an Oni Gauntlet. But wait, who is that woman appearing from Musashi’s gauntlet? There’s more to look forward to as we approach the 2026 release, but check out some of the impressions attendees had for the game about its satisfying combat:

Onimusha: Way of the Sword looks like an incredible PS2 throwback in all the right ways, but with a modern feel and a swaggering protagonist I already love – Games Radar
We Saw Onimusha: Way of the Sword in Action And It Looks Impressive – GameSpot
Onimusha: Way of the Sword Director Wants to Make “The Number One Action Title” – Inverse
Onimusha: Way of the Sword Hands-Off Preview – This is Awesome – Noisy Pixel
Onimusha: Way of the Sword was the best thing I saw at Summer Game Fest – PC Gamer

Revealed by none other than wrestling superstar Kenny Omega himself, Street Fighter 6 fans can look forward to Sagat this Summer, C. Viper in Autumn, Alex in early Spring 2026, and Ingrid in late Spring 2026!

Introducing a new protagonist with Grace Ashcroft, Resident Evil Requiem puts players up against new horrors with the option to play either in first-person or third-person perspectives. What might Grace uncover as she explores her own past? Check out some of the impressions attendees had after a deeper look at the game:

Back to Raccoon City – Game Informer
MAX PLAYED: Resident Evil 9 Requiem…and it’s horrifying – Maximilian Dood
A Closer Look At Resident Evil 9 RE9UIEM – The Sphere Hunter
Resident Evil, Onimusha, and PRAGMATA SGF 2025 Previews – Easy Allies

With such big announcements, Capcom was a popular destination for media and creators attending Summer Game Fest. Not only did they get to see a more detailed sneak peek at Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Resident Evil Requiem, but they also were able to get the first hands-on experience with PRAGMATA, Capcom’s brand-new science-fiction action-adventure IP with a hacking twist! Check out the First Contact trailer from last week’s State of Play.

With the Summer Game Fest demo, attendees were able to formally meet protagonists Hugh Williams and Diana, as they traversed through a lunar research facility overrun with hostile AI. With Hugh on the offensive, he’ll have to take down dangerous androids in intense shooting gameplay. Of course, Diana’s hacking abilities are the true core to everything you do in PRAGMATA, from action to exploration. With Diana perched on Hugh’s shoulder, use their specific abilities in tandem to take on the mechanical enemies and try to return to Earth.

Take a look at what people have been saying about PRAGMATA based on their experience:

Capcom finally let us play PRAGMATA, and it left me hungry from more – VGC
Hands-On With Capcom’s Mysterious Sci-Fi Adventure – Game Informer
I Didn’t Expect PRAGMATA’s Combat to Work Like This – Game Rant
Maybe Capcom’s PRAGMATA took years to finish because the combat is exhilarating – Polygon

PRAGMATA is real, and it’s coming in 2026. There’s plenty more to share as we approach the release, so follow PRAGMATA on Twitter/X, Instagram, and Facebook for more details as they emerge.
